Ecore International, renowned for recycling and transforming reclaimed materials into performance-driven surfaces, has announced the strategic acquisition of Ameritread Remanufactured Tires, a Pennsylvania-based company specializing in the remanufacturing of certified reconstructed tires. This acquisition, announced on December 6, 2023, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, reinforces Ecore’s commitment to sustainability and strengthens its role in the circular economy.
Art Dodge, CEO of Ecore, emphasized that the acquisition enhances the company’s access to essential recycled materials and aligns with its mission to transform waste into environmentally responsible solutions. He noted that Ameritread’s focus on tire remanufacturing reflects Ecore’s dedication to the circular economy.
For over four decades, Ecore has been a leader in converting rubber waste into various products. Annually, the company upcycles more than 300 million pounds of rubber into over 1,500 products, including high-performance flooring, playground surfaces, athletic fields, and mulch trails.
Ameritread, operating under Truck Stop Supply Company LLC and headquartered in Newville, Pennsylvania, employs a team of 17. The company specializes in refurbishing used tires, thus extending their lifecycle as high-quality, certified reconstructed products.
Kal Krishan, President of Ecore’s Materials Business Unit, who will oversee Ameritread, highlighted that this acquisition not only provides access to a steady source of tire scrap from a known supplier but also adds valuable culling capabilities to Ecore’s portfolio. He expects this to enhance revenue and elevate Ecore’s position within the circular economy, bringing increased sustainability benefits to customers.
The acquisition is seen as a step towards synergistic growth for Ecore’s expanding group of companies, sharing a commitment to sustainability. It follows Ecore’s previous acquisition of 360 Tire Recycling Group, a leading tire recycling management company, in April 2023, further bolstering the company’s sustainable solution offerings.
